India Hicks

Last week I was fortunate enough to go to the Boston Design Center to see India Hicks give a talk about her life, which I found to be fascinating. She is the daughter of David Hicks, who was a very famous British interior designer known for his dramatic use of color. After seeing photos of his work I have to say, I came home, looked around my drab place and declared, "Yes, I will buy that coral sofa I've dreamed about after all!" Of course, I have start saving my pennies first so it might take awhile. Now back to India, she is also the goddaughter of Prince Charles and was a flower girl at his wedding! How cool is that? On her own, she has been a model, photographer, author, jewelry designer, and interior designer. Talk about inspiration, I left there feeling extremely motivated to learn more, set better goals, and work harder. She currently lives in the Bahamas with her family and runs the Sugar Mill Boutique which carries women's fashion, home accessories, and jewelry. Check out her online store here, India Hicks. She has two lines with Crabtree & Evelyn called Island Living and Island Nights and lucky for me there were gift bags on our chairs at the talk. So I got my very own India Hicks Island Living hand soap and hand lotion. Ummm, do they smell good. Thank you India!
